Boo to You

Happy Halloween or shall i say i hope everybody had a fun Halloween. We had a great one, a bunch of candy, seeing good friends and no issues. Ella was Minnie Mouse. Not a big suprise. Aedan was a werewolf, but if you ask him it's the werewolf from "Thriller". I worked that morning but Courtney and Aedan watched Halloween together to get in the Halloween mood. But don't be alarmed Aedan says"It's not scary because it's not real." When i got home we went to Cousin Chad and then Great-Grandma's house. We got home and went around our block. After that we went to Grandma and Pop and walked their street. The we all went to the Martin's for a party.

Don't be scared it's just me under the mask. Aedan didn't like wearing the mask. I just don't think he could see very well. Aedan is already planning his costume for next year.

The fall of leaves is a sure sign that it's autumn. You can't rake a pile of leaves and not expect a kid to jump in them. Well i have to"check the candy for poison." See you soon.

Aedan's first Purdue Football Game

This past weekend Aedan went to his first Boilermaker football game. Purdue even won this game, beating Illinois 24-14. We went with my father and my brother Chris. It turned out to be pretty good October football weather. Not really cold and not really wet.
The big bass drum.

If you flip over it spells Purdue. Aedan especially liked the halftime show. It was a tribute to Micheal Jackson and Thriller was done right.
Go Boilers.

Pumpkin Patch Paradise(or Haaaayride Hilarity)

We had an exciting past weekend. We had some visitors this weekend. They're in some pictures below but for you who just can't wait it was My Dad and Shirley and My brother Chris and my sister-in-law Sarah. That right there is fun in itself but we had to take a trip to get pumpkins. Ella loves pumpkins and Aedan said his Oppa needed to go and get pumpkins with them. We went to Exploration Acres .http://www.explorationacres.com/Home.html It had its on pumpkin patch this year and a lot of new fun stuff.
Courtney says i didn't ruin this picture this is was on the hayride.

Aedan Looking for the perfect pumpkin.

(Run Jive)Turkey Run

We went to Turkey Run(http://www.turkeyrunstatepark.com/) today. It's south from Lafayette about 50 miles. we wanted to go, I had a long weekend and it was beautiful outside. Aedan really didn't want to go but once we got there and started walking he was into it.

We packed a picnic lunch and then walked the some trails. This picture is Aedan bumping Ella.

Up on Sugar Creek.

Sitting at Sunset point.

Here's Ella with her babushka on. So is almost as tall as my granny was. She didn't keep it on long but she had to carry it the whole way around. Ella was a trooper she was hiking the whole time.

It looks dark but we were down by the creek next to some cliffs it really pretty cool. We definitely will be back.

Here is me trying to be artsy like my brother.

Why Daddy doesn't Dress Ella

I really should have no decisions in the outfits that my child wears. Luckily Ella has no clue what kind of torture i am putting here through. At least she is routing for the Indians.

Here's Aedan after a long day of school. Notice Ella's hand ready to awaken the sleeping monster.
Go Tribe.

hi-FIVE(or Aedan is 5)

Here's what a five year old McGurr looks like. Aedan had his fifth birthday on June 30th. He had a great party on the 27th in the backyard on his Waterslide(see below). It was lot's of fun, I have to go on a diet so i can slide down it. On the 28th, he went to his buddy Ayden's birthday at tropicanoe cove(the pool) http://www.lafayette.in.gov/aquatics/division.php?fDD=28-121
. The have a sand are that Ella and Aedan both love.
Here is Courtney and Finn.

Just some hot dudes brushing sand off each others butts. Nothing wrong with that.

Ella screaming "this hole ain't goin' dig itself." She hasn't taken any English classes so don't blame her.

Aedan's party was tons of fun. The Kids loved the slide. It turned out to be a wonderful day. Aedan got a lot of cool stuff like transformers, Lego's,Indiana Jones, some cool clothes and some water toys. He wants to thank everyone who came and those who sent their wishes even if they couldn't make it.

Ella watching her brother at his speech camp at Purdue. They had a parade for the fourth of July.

Courtney's Mother's Day(we didn't forget)

Here are some pictures of Aedan and Ella painting some projects for their grandmother. Ella was focused..on making a mess. Aedan was more precise on the color scheme of his birdhouse.

And finally the best gift for any occasion.

Choo-Choo through Cleveland

We went to Cleveland last weekend and had a busy fun filled couple of days. We stayed at my brother Chris and Sarah's house. Saturday they had a BBQ and lots of the family showed up. It was good to see everyone again. Sunday we went and had a day out with Thomas the Tank Engine. We actually got to ride in the train pulled by Thomas. This top picture is of Thomas. it turned out to be a beautiful weekend. I heard Indiana was stormy, Ha,Ha.

The day with Thomas was sponsored by Duplo/Lego. Which is just an added bonus because Aedan loves Lego. They didn't have a whole lot to play with but there was this giant Lego Thomas that kids could actually sit in. Pretty Cool.

My nieces Maddy and Betty came up to see us(they brought Sean and Melanie). Here's Maddy and me just chillin.

On Wednesday, Aedan's school had there school music performance. He was very good he had some trouble not singing. But overall it was real cool.

Well goodbye. Hope to see you soon. Aedan says give me a call because i got to split.(ha,ha i crack myself up).

Happy mother's day to all that are out there. Hopefully you treated your mother nicely. I wanted to share my mother with you as well. She has been gone for awhile but not forgotten. She used to be all that was on my mind but now sometimes I feel that i sometimes neglect her. i also feel like some of you might have known her better and i get sad thinking that I'm missing something that i should have been apart of. I don't think that i need to say it but i loved my mother. I wasn't always the best son(no really it's true). I wanted to post these memories or pictures to remember the better times because sometimes i only remember the bad.
This is one of my favorite pictures. It was taken in August of 1998. Dustin and I were taking a road trip to Cooperstown and we stopped in to see my mom in Cleveland. We took a few pictures and i thought it would be funny if wore my Mom's wig. She said she always wanted to be a blond and that's why she got that color wig. We talked right around my birthday and she said she was sorry she didn't get me anything or sent a card. She was said she was so happy to see me and couldn't wait to see me again. I told not worry about getting me anything.

She was always the cool, fashionable Mom. I wish that i was that cool. I just wanted to say happy mother's day today and that we really miss you.

Love,
Jeremy

Vacation(i'll i ever wanted)

After Easter, I was on vacation and we wanted to do something fun but not break the bank our cross timezones. So we down to Indianapolis and stayed at the Holiday Inn with Caribbean Cove(Indoor water park) and to go to the children's museum. The water park was awesome, Ella wasn't as thrilled as the rest of us. She found it to be too loud and crowded. We barely left the kid's area with the pirate ship. I'd recommend it if you get the time.

If you are an avid reader of this blog you already know we've been to the Indianapolis Children's Museum. But it has some new exhibits like Lego Castle and Star wars Clone Wars. And if you know Aedan(or me), that's right up our alley. The first picture is of a Dragon that is completely made of Legos, awesome. In the castle exhibit they had many different(real) castles made of legos. But the draw to Aedan was the lego stations that you could build castles. If it was up to him he would of stayed there all day. Ella preferred the slide in that exhibit. Ella enjoyed the water room the best. That is just an apron not a lead vest, she is being protected from water not harmful x-rays.

On the bottom floor of the museum was the Star Wars Clone Wars exhibit. it had a lot of props and costumes from the the new star wars trilogy. It also had a bunch of art from the animated series. Ella looking at Jabba.

Here is Aedan in front of Jango's helmet. I told him Jango's head was still in it and he looked up into it(It's not), if you don't know what I'm talking about watch Episode II.

Aedan was excited that he was taller than Master Yoda.

Here are two Bad M.F.s. The museum was great again. It is going through some renovation but in no way does it hinder the experience.

Finally the Kids were at rest. Coming home is always nice
